Natalie Cole—RIP

natalie cole

My new boyfriend (and future husband) took me to see Natalie Cole in concert at Radio City Music Hall in 1991. When she sang the rich lyrics of the song Autumn Leaves, my boyfriend took my hand. It was so romantic. What an honor to hear her sing in person. I will never forget.

Autumn Leaves

The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I’ll hear old winter’s song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall.
