I’m an alligator, I’m a mama-papa coming for you.
I’m the space invader, I’ll be a rock ‘n’ rollin’ bitch for you!

New Love

22 Mar

Their first public appearance! David Bowie and Iman at the “7th on Sale” Benefit at the 69th Regiment Armory in New York City in 1990.

New love – a boy and girl are talking.
New words – that only they can share in.
New words – a love so strong it tears their hearts
To sleep – through the fleeting hours of morning.

Song Soul Love by David Bowie.

This shot was taken while they were dating. They were married on June 6, 1992.

Your face, your race, the way that you talk—
I kiss you, you’re beautiful, I want you to walk.

Song Five Years by David Bowie

Still feeling pain about DB’s death.

I think that David Bowie chose “not-his-usual” musicians to perform on Blackstar because if he used his usual musicians, they would have instinctively known what was going on with his health because of their years of history of performing with him. It might have been too heavy for them to deal with and contain.

I Thought Of Ma

It was cold and it rained so I felt like an actor.
And I thought of Ma and I wanted to get back there.

Looking So Fine!

milk shake

I think I saw you in an ice-cream parlour—
drinking milk shakes cold and long;
Smiling and waving and looking so fine!

Somebody People

13 Mar
nyc 1900

Prince Street, NYC, 1900. Near the neighborhood where David Bowie lived.

All the fat-skinny people, and all the tall-short people
And all the nobody people, and all the somebody people
I never thought I’d need so many people

Song Five Years by David Bowie

Everything In There

My brain hurt like a warehouse
it had no room to spare
I had to cram so many things
to store everything in there

Then she can do it,

So Swishy

1 Mar

Screen Shot 2016-02-26 at 2.18.16 PM

She’s so swishy in her satin and tat
In her frock coat
and bipperty-bopperty hat
Oh God, I could do better than that
