Merry Christmas! #merrychristmas

Merry Christmas!

I had been looking for a new artificial tree for a few years but didn’t want to pay more than $75.  I went online at Target and found a 7.5 foot tree that I really liked for $134.  I called the store to see if they had it and the nice salesperson, Aman, told me they had it and it was on sale for $64!!!  He put it on hold for me and I drove over to pick it up.  One good thing about Wiscsonsin is I was in and out of the store in 5 minutes!

Here is the before shot:

It took around 1 hour to fluff out all the branches, but look at the end result!  It comes in 3 pieces.  I really love having this tree.  It was fun to decorate – the branches are durable and when I walk by and accidentally hit the tree, the ornaments don’t fall off.

I wish you all very happy holidays.  I thank you for reading and following my blog.  I love creating posts for you to read, and it keeps me sane too!

Happy 2014 to everyone!

Justin Bieber Holiday Wrapping Paper #justinbieber

justin bieber_1447 blogI love looking at all the holiday/Christmas items at Target.  I saw that there is wrapping paper with Justin Bieber’s photos on it.

Can you imagine being so famous that people want to buy wrapping paper with your image on it?

Merona Leggings @ Target #merona #target

I found the perfect leggings:

merona tights202 blogI bought them at Target:  Merona Opaque Footless Tights.  Lightweight and a great fit.  And, they look like they could be Wolford leggings!  Noticed I retouched out the size!  I looked on Target’s website and couldn’t find them.  Hope they don’t stop making them.  I had better stock up!

Only $9 dollars!  Worth every frugal penny!

Tapenade – Yum! #shurfinebrand #target #CostcoTweets

Tapenade is a French creation.  I usually buy my tapenade at Trader Joe’s.  But I decided to start making it mysef.  It seemed like it would be easy to make.

tapenade_8556 blogYou can put capers and onions and anchovies in it.  I put banana peppers in mine.  Shurfine is private label company in Wisconsin and I buy their high-quality products all the time.  Pitted kalamata olives can be expensive, but not this big jar from Costco.  Why should I chop up Spanish olives myself when I can buy them at Target already chopped up?

1/3 cup banana peppers

1 cup kalamata olives

1 cup Spanish olives

1/4 – 1/2 cup olive oil

tapenade 2_8562 blogBlend the banana peppers, kalamata and Spanish olives separately in a food processor to the consistency you like.  You might want it super blended or still chunky.

tapenade 3_8563 blogMix the peppers and olives together in a bowl.  Then add olive oil to lightly coat all of the ingredients or add enough olive oil to make it oozy.

Use the Tapenade as a dip with crackers or spread over crusty French bread.

Good appetizer on a Sunday night with a martini!

Scanned Art For The House #scan

I was looking through an old needlepoint magazine.  No, I don’t knit or crochet but I respect those who do; I can only handle so much.  I loved the needlepoint photo of “God Bless Our Pad.”  It was a needlepoint project in the magazine.  So I scanned it, printed it on good photo paper, and framed it.  I bought the frame at Target.

When you scan your favorite images from magazines, you can have all kinds of cool art work for your house.

You can find good frames cheap at thrift stores!
